We tried the buffet at Shambala and it was okay overall. The momos were good, but they would be even better if they were fried a little more to get that perfect texture. Apart from that, everything else was good. Overall, it’s a decent place to try.

My fiancé and I had our first experience with Tibetan food, and Shambala made it worth remembering. The flavours and quality of the food is exceptional. After a few days of non-stop summer days, it was the perfect place to recalibrate and nourish up. Would highly recommend it!

What a fire place to eat in the avenues! The service was phenomenal, every employee was super friendly and helpful. It’s small, cozy, clean, and the food was delicious. I had the chicken curry, and loved it!! Great flavor, definitely different than Indian curry, but so good. They have a lot to choose from on their menu, but just ask the server and they’ll give good recommendations.

Such a neat place! For the most part, the food was excellent. For some reason, the steamed pork momos were super doughy this time. I remember them being better. However, our waiter was kind and accommodating.

This restaurant was the highlight of my visit to SLC. I had never tried Tibetan cuisine prior and now I will be making a point to find other restaurants because it was such a delicious experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the number of vegetarian options, and the staff were so kind and welcoming when it came to explaining everything! I also had the opportunity to check out the jewelry store/gift shop, which had a very impressive selection of beautiful gifts. I purchased some really unique silver rings (pictured) for a very good price. Without question, worth the trip, I am jealous of anyone that has the chance to visit more frequently. Order the Vegetable Phing and prepare to be awed.

I came here on a sad day. I was feeling melancholy and knew that I would feel happier if I tried a family owed restaurant, ideally with cuisine I’ve never had. Tibetan food is so delicious, I love it now thanks to Cafe Shambala. The beef momos and mango lassi made me instantly happy. What a beautiful restaurant with kind people.

Amazing food and exceptional service. I visited Salt Lake City for a week, and the restaurant was so good that my family ate here four times during our trip. I have dairy and egg allergies, and the staff was very accommodating! they clearly explained the ingredients in each dish and made sure my needs were met. They also offer a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options. I highly recommend the momo and the fried pork.

Wow. Simply wow. My partner and I came here not expecting too much, we read some great reviews and only a handful of harsh reviews. The service is simply amazing. The family who owns this place are sweet gentle and very friendly. We were greeted with a smile and left the same way. The pot of chai is a must order, it is so tasty! And the best part is that it is made with soy milk so if you have a issues with dairy or are vegan like myself then you will have zero issue. The chai pot is a cup full of joy to warm your heart. I almost would go here just to enjoy a pot of chai with friends. We got the Shambala Vegetarian plate (spicy potatoes, fried rice & fried momos) and the Tofu Fried Noodle dish to share. The three different sauces they have on the table are so yum. We were so happy with this place and wish to visit again. It is really nice that the vegetarian menu is all vegan as well. Makes it really easy for someone like myself.
